2017 Fall Campout

 
Date: September 9th / 10th
Location: Harmonie State Park
Details:   Each family will be responsible for their park entrance fee. You can arrive to set up your tents around 8:00 and our opening ceremony will be at 9. Don’t forget that you are responsible for your families lunch. The pack will provide dinner and breakfast. For more information as to schedule, policies, and what to bring, click on this link.

9:00-11:30 Den Activities

11:30 – 12:30 Lunch (on your own, no fire. times may vary with rank)

12:30-3:00 Den activities

3:00-5:00 Free time/rest/clean up

5:00 Dinner (provided by pack, Webelos help prepare)

After dinner scouts need to dress in uniforms for pictures and the ceremony.

Sunday, May 6

Breakfast (Pancakes & Sausage)

Pack up & head home (whenever your family desires)

Location:

Scales Lake – 800 W Tennyson Rd, Boonville, IN 47601

Campsite: Our campsite will be in 213-216.

Amenities: Indoor bathrooms (no showers) There are showers in the campground (driving distance) if needed.

 Information:

If you are camping, we will be setting up in a large horseshoe fashion (as best as possible). 

What to Bring REGARDLESS if you are camping or not…

Food & Drinks for Saturday lunch and snacks. IF you are only coming for the day…..Lunch and snacks for Saturday (coolers w/ice and drinks)

  • Mess Kit
  • Durable shoes
  • Jacket, poncho or rain coat (dependent on weather)
  • Clothing that can get dirty
  • Extra socks
  • Scout uniform (to be worn during Saturday evening ceremony/campfire only)
  • Lawn chairs
  • Toiletries
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellant
  • Camera
  • Sunglasses
  • Scout books, Notebook & pencil
  • Fishing gear (Adults must have a current fishing license to fish. Scouts do not)

  • Tent, tarp or ground cover
  • Sleeping bags, air mattresses, pillows
  • Flashlights w/batteries
  • Assorted clothing: warm weather and cold, wet or dry!

 Important Information:

VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: Pack Policies/Procedure

1 NO pets of any kind

2 Buddy system to be used by all children.

3 Please sign in and out if you have to leave during any part of the encampment. Sign in sheets will be under the pack canopy.

4 If you are camping: You may pull up to the camping area to unload only, then all vehicles must be moved to the beach parking.

5 If camping: BSA rules are one family per tent. Scouts are not allowed in any tent with anyone but their parent or guardian. This is to protect the scout AND the adults.

6 No fires or flame lit lanterns/camp stoves other than in designated areas that will be away from the tents.

7 Please be respectful of other campers/park users re: noise, activity levels. Remember we are scouts!

8 Any adult may cut the corner of a whittling chip card if you witness a Current Bear or Webelos Scout that is not practicing safe knife procedures. They are the ONLY scouts permitted to have pocketknives at pack campouts and ONLY if they have their whittling chip (card) on their body!

9 Pack provides dinner on Saturday, but you may be asked to bring an item to contribute.

10 Scouts are not allowed to bring portable electronic devices of any kind – radio, phone, computer, gaming devices, movie players, etc. to any pack, den & council events!

11 Please do not allow children to run in & around tents, as they may trip over tent tie downs. If we set up in the horseshoe fashion, we should have plenty of play room in the middle.

12 No tobacco products. No alcoholic beverages. No firearms. No pets.

13 Shirts and Shoes must be worn at all times to avoid cuts and bruises.

14 A parent or guardian must attend with Scout. Parents are ultimately responsible for their own children at campouts and are encouraged to assist den & pack leaders with scheduled activities.

15 Tag a Longs are welcome to participate in all activities under the supervision of a parent or

guardian.

16 Pack leadership reserves the right to modify or cancel any activity or site they deem unsafe for children ages 7-11.

17 The Pack Committee may modify or add to these rules as needed.

 

2016 Advancement Campout

What: Advancement Campout /Ceremony
When: Saturday, April 30th 8:00 A.M. – Sunday, May 1st 9:00 A.M.
Where: Scales Lake, 800 West Tennyson Road, Boonville, IN
What is Advancement?
This is a day the Pack spends together where we are all done with our current rank so we get a head start on the next rank. We do activities with our rank, have lunch, then some free time, dinner, and then our ceremony. It is a very busy day, but lots of fun!
Clothing: Weather appropriate wear. Wear Pack T-shirts or Sweatshirts until dinner then change into Class A Uniform for the ceremony.

Summary:

Location

  • 3451 Harmonie State Park Road New Harmony, IN 47631
  • Campsite: Our campsites are Sites 1 and 2 at the Youth Tent Area – Amenities: Pit/Vault Toilets (this is for one night of camping J)There is a shower house up the road if needed.
  • Parking: Please do not park on grass! Pull up, unload (Don’t set up), then park your car across the street. There is parking available.

Saturday, Sept. 19th

8:00 am                Arrive & set up camp (may do this later as well)
9:00 am                Flag Ceremony & Leave No Trace –  ALL RANKS
9:30-11:30            Rank Activities (refer to your Den Leaders for more info)
11:30 – 1:30         Lunch/Free Time (on your own, no fire. times may vary with Dens)- This is a great time to finish setting up your tent and just getting to know others in the pack.
1:30-3:00              Den activities (These times may vary within the dens)
3:00-5:00              Rest, Clean up, Free Time
5:00-6:00              Dinner: Will go through line according to rank, Tigers first. Pack will be providing the dinner.
6:00                        Clean up after Dinner (Volunteers are great!!)
7:00                        Campfire (Den Leaders – BE SURE TO WORK ON A SKIT FOR CAMPFIRE!!)

Sunday, Sept 20th

7:00 am – Breakfast, Break down camp and clean up campsite

More IMPORTANT information is included in the 2015 Fall Campout – Harmonie State Park.  Please take a look at this PRIOR to the campout and e-mail the pack with any questions.

Please send an e-mail to the pack e-mail (csapack369@gmail.com)  or sign up at the Pack Meeting on Sept 15th. It will be the same sheet that was at the picnic, if you signed up there, you are set!
