Raingutter Regatta

 

Location: JH Castle Cafeteria
Boat Drop Off: Friday Nov. 3rd 6-8pm (Boats to be dropped off so we can assign numbers and make the race bracket). 
Boat Race: Saturday Nov. 4th 9am will be the opening for this event.
Information:

You can find lots of info on the internet but be sure to follow the Pack 369 Regatta rules.

Please have your scouts in their uniforms for this event.

2017 Pinewood Derby

Event:  2017 Pack 369 Pinewood Derby
Date / Time: Registration: Friday, March 10th from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. — All derby cars MUST be registered during this time period.

 

Race: Saturday, March 11th @ 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.

Location:  John H. Castle Elementary Gymnasium
Details:  There will be graphite for the wheels and additional weights available at check-in on Friday evening if you need to add weight or modify your car to comply with the rules. 

 

2017 Pinewood Derby Rules

2017 Pinewood Derby (Big Kid Rules)

Each car will race a total of 4 times, once in each lane. We will then determine the fastest 3 cars in each rank (Lion, Tiger, etc.) by overall time from each race. The track is electronically timed and submitted to a computer program. When all racers have completed, we will also determine the overall top 4 racers in the pack.

Additional trophies will be given out for the following categories:

Scout Theme
Sports Theme
Most Colorful Paint-job
Most Unusual
Animal Theme
Patriotic Theme
Most Stickers
Funniest Theme
Fastest Looking
Leader’s Choice
Cubmaster’s Choice

Additionally, each scouts time sheet will be printed and given to them after all the racing is completed.

Any scout that has not yet picked up their derby car may contact myself or Committee Chair, Dana Drees. Remember that adults and siblings are allowed to race as well and you can buy a car from the pack for $3.50 or the scout office for $3.99. Former cub scouts will compete in the “big kid” category.

There will also be a concession stand available during the races that will be ran by the Webelos Dens. Proceeds go directly to Dens 4 & 5.

Space Derby (November 5, 2016)

It is time for Pack 369’s Space Derby

When: Check-In is on Friday, November 4 from 6:00-8:00 PM (no check-ins allowed after 8 pm) We could use help with set up for this event.
Race Day is Saturday, November 5th starting at 9:00 AM

Where: John H. Castle Cafeteria

Tags are welcome to race, but will need to buy their own kit from the Scout Store (about $5).

Scouts MUST be in their Class A Uniform to race on Race Day. This means shirt (tucked in), neckerchief, slide, and preferably belt. They do not have to be in uniform for check in.

Use the instructions that come in your box. Here is a scanned copy of those, Instruction Sheet.

2016 Pinewood Derby

What: Pinewood Derby
When: Check-In Friday, March 11th 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Opening Ceremony Saturday, March 12th 8:30 A.M.
Where: John H. Castle Gymnasium

Pinewood Derby is coming up on Saturday, March 12th. All cars will need to be turned in (registered) at the school gymnasium on Friday March 11th to be eligible to race. This includes tag-alongs and “big kids” too. Remember to follow the rules that were set out with the cars. If you have misplaced your rules, you can download them by clicking on the link below:

Raingutter Regatta Boat Race

The Raingutter Regatta is a boat race. The scouts will assemble, paint, and race their boats using wind power. You can find lots of info on the internet but be sure to follow the Pack 369 Regatta rules.
